The victim, a 17-year-old boy, is a Class XII student at SAI RNS Academy and is preparing for the IIT JEE exam through Allen, Guwahati.

According to the boy’s father, the student went to the school directly from his coaching institute to complete his Class XII registration and pay a fee of  ₹4,500. However, upon reaching the school, the staff at the reception counter insisted that he first pay the quarterly fee of  ₹9,350 or speak to the Director, Dulal Talukdar.

Talking to GPlus, the father of the victim said, "My son called me to ask what he should do because he didn’t have enough money with him to pay the quarterly fee. While he was talking to me on the phone, he proceeded to the Director’s office on the first floor. The Director met him halfway and, without any provocation, started beating my son asking why he was wearing the Allen dress and talking on the phone on the school campus.”

“He then called the drivers and security guards to beat him up and locked him in a room," added the father.

The father further explained that around 2 PM, his wife received a call from the school asking her to visit immediately. When she arrived, she found their son with a swollen face and bruises, evidence of the brutal beating he had endured.

"Since I am a Central Government officer posted in Mangaldoi, I returned to Guwahati as soon as I heard about the incident and filed an FIR against Talukdar and the unknown security guards and drivers involved at Bhagaduttpur police station," the father then added.

The incident has also brought to light concerns about the school’s fee structure. According to the father, when his son was admitted to Class XII in March 2024, parents were informed that the annual fee would be ₹68,500, which many paid in full. However, the school later began demanding a quarterly fee of ₹9,350 from each student without any formal notice or explanation. He also claimed that the school was aware that its CBSE registration was at risk of being canceled but failed to inform the parents.

"In fact, the school authority was completely aware in March 2024 itself that its CBSE registration was going to be canceled by CBSE, New Delhi, but they didn’t inform any of the parents and asked us to deposit the fee immediately," the father informed GPlus.

Talking to GPlus, an official from Bhagaduttapur Police outpost confirmed to GPlus that the case is currently under investigation. "We are investigating the case."
