GUWAHATI: A woman from Bhetapara has filed a First Information Report (FIR) at Hatigaon Police Station, alleging that she was secretly recorded while in the bathroom of her rented house.

The complainant stated in her FIR that the incident took place on Thursday, March 13, at around 3:40 PM at her residence in Alock Nagar Road. She claimed that while she was in the bathroom, she noticed a mobile phone positioned in a way that suggested she was being filmed without her consent.
The accused has been identified as Irrimbam Thoi Thoi. The victim alleged that the act amounted to a violation of privacy, outraging her modesty, and constituted a cybercrime under the Information Technology Act. She has urged the police to take strict action against the accused.
Talking to GPlus, an official from Hatigaon Police Station told GPlus, “We have checked his phone and other devices but have not found any such videos or photos as of now.”
Further investigation is under way.
