Film set in India wins Oscar for ‘Best Documentary Short Subject’

GUWAHATI: The film, ‘Period. End of Sentence.’ has won the Oscar for ‘Best Documentary Short Subject’ category at the 91st Academy Awards, held on February 24. 

It is a film about menstruation that is set in rural India, in Hapur village outside Delhi, where women are leading a quiet revolution as they fight against the stigma associated with menstruation. 

The movie has been directed by filmmaker Rayka Zehtabachi and has produced by Indian producer, Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment.
