FICN Worth Over ₹6 Lakh Seized In Guwahati, One Held

GUWAHATI: The Special Task Force (STF), Assam recovered a huge sum of Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) in Dispur, Guwahati on Wednesday, August 14.

Authorities carried out a raid on the footpath of G.S. Road, opposite Down Town Hospital near Sarkokri Celebrations, under the jurisdiction of Dispur Police Station. The raid led to the apprehension of an individual in possession of FICN amounting to ₹6,68,500. The fake notes were in the denomination of ₹500, with a total of 1,337 notes seized.

The person apprehended has been identified as Abash, aged 41 years, hailing from Bishnupur district in Manipur. The authorities have initiated the necessary formalities in connection with the case. Further investigations are underway.
