Assam Inland Water Transport Department for the occassion of Maha Shivratri has allocated multiple ferry services from Kachari Ghat and Rajaduwar Ghat to Umananda Temple, from 8 AM on February 14th.
Considering the safety and security of the devotees, Damodar Barman, an official at Assam Inland Water Transport said that they have banned all private ferries for the day.
City police have also stepped up the security in and across the premises of Umananda Temple for Maha Shivratri.
