GUWAHATI: A video of workers unloading parcels at the Guwahati Railway Station has gone viral on the internet today, August 29. In the video, the workers can be seen throwing the parcels from the train to the platform.

Reacting to the video several netizens have shown concern over how their e-commerce parcels are being handled at the railway station before being delivered.

Many users shared the video claiming that it was shot at the Guwahati station today.

However, the viral video is actually an old video of the New Delhi Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express (12424) stationed at the Guwahati Railway Station in March 2022.

This was confirmed by the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), hours after the video went viral. NFR confirmed that the video was old and involved a leased VP. It also clarified that the parcel handling was done by the party holding the VP lease and not by the Railways.

Taking to Twitter NFR tweeted, "This is an old video of an incident that took place at Guwahati Rly Station on Mar'22 involving a leased VP. The parcel handling seen here was done by party holding the VP lease & not by the Railways. Corrective measures are in place since then to prevent mishandling by traders."

Even though the railways have clarified that collective measures are in place to prevent mishandling, netizens continue to remain apprehensive. Several have also blamed the e-commerce companies for the mishandling of parcels.
