GUWAHATI: Former Chief Justice of India, Ranjan Gogoi, has been made a member of the Parliament’s standing committee on external affairs on July 23.

Moreover, former Congress parliamentarians who have now joined the BJP viz Jyotiraditya Scindia and Bhubaneshwar Kalita, have been placed in the committee on human resource development.

Rajya Sabha Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu finalized the selection of members on July 23, a day after 45 members took oath.

45 of the 61 newly elected members of Rajya Sabha took oath and the remaining 16 new members would participate only after subscribing to oath/affirmation, an official statement said.
