GUWAHATI: A pedestrian suffered critical injuries in a serious road accident in the wee hours of Wednesday, February 12 on GS Road in Guwahati. The dumper hit the pedestrian before crashing into three parked vehicles in the Bora Service area.

The driver was reportedly heavily intoxicated at the time of the incident. The vehicle struck the pedestrian from behind and dragged him a significant distance, leaving him severely injured.
Police rushed the victim to hospital for urgent medical attention. Meanwhile, the impact of the collision completely wrecked two of the three parked vehicles involved in the crash.
Talking to GPlus, a senior traffic police official from Paltan Bazar said, “The accident occurred almost early morning today, as the dumper crashed into parked vehicles and also grimly injured a bystander.”
The driver has been detained and further legal proceedings are underway. Further details are awaited.
