GUWAHATI: Dr S.U. Ahmed, a Vitreo Retinal Surgeon with over 25 years of experience, recently addressed concerns about the impact of prolonged sunlight exposure on the eye’s retina during a podcast hosted by GPlus.
Responding to the query, Dr Ahmed clarified that while blindness due to sunlight exposure may not be prevalent, permanent damage to vision is possible.
With a career spanning more than 10,000 vitreoretinal surgeries and over 1,00,000 retinal laser procedures, Dr Ahmed is considered a pioneer in ophthalmology for the northeast.
