GUWAHATI: As per the directive of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), a team of doctors visited KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi in the Guwahati Central jail on March 4.
The doctors have suggested proper treatment for Gogoi and have furnished a report to the NIA court.
It is to be mentioned that Gogoi was taken to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) recently for a health check up after he complained of fever and chest pain.
It is to be mentioned that the KMSS leader was arrested in Jorhat amid protests over the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) on December 12, 2019.
As per reports, the special team of doctors suggested the peasant leader to be shifted to GMCH immediately.
Gogoi had also launched an indefinite hunger strike in jail from March 1.
