District Magistrate prohibits illegal excavation of sand

Rajib Prakash Baruah, District Magistrate of South Kamrup has prohibited illegal mining and excavation of sand and silt from water bodies and any other natural bodies by any individual or bodies. The Magistrate also prohibited illegal blasting of rocks in any areas of the entire district of South Kamrup without valid permission from the district administration and forest department. In another declaration, the District Magistrate also prohibited movement of trucks and vehicles carrying illegally mined soil, sand, silt etc, within or outside the district.
