Dispur College only one to feature in NIRF College rankings from Assam

GUWAHATI: The Ministry of Human Resource Development on Monday, April 8 released its fourth edition of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2019.

Dispur College is the only college from Assam to get a NIRF Ranking in the rank band: 151-200 in the 'College' category. The college had also featured in the same rank band during NIRF Rankings in 2018. 

Dr. Amar Saikia, Principal and Dr. Ajoy Mitra, Coordinator, IQAC and Dispur College fraternity have said they feel proud to represent the state in the prestigious national ranking parameters of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). 

The rankings have been done in the following categories- Overall, University, Engineering, College, Management, Pharmacy, Law, Architecture and Medical.

President Ramnath Kovind declared the NIRF India Rankings 2019 on April 8 at Plenary Hall, Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. NIRF was launched in 2015 to rank higher educational institutions in the country based on objective criteria to promote competitive excellence in the higher educational institutions. 

For the awards, the framework outlines a methodology to rank institutions across the country. The methodology draws from the overall recommendations’ broad understanding arrived at by a core committee set up by MHRD to identify the parameters for ranking various universities and institutions. These parameters broadly cover Teaching, Learning and Resources, Research and Professional Practices, Graduation Outcomes, Outreach and Inclusivity and Perception.
