GUWAHATI: Deputy Inspector General of Police, Indrani Baruah from Assam has been selected for the President's Medal for Distinguished Service on the occasion of Republic Day 2025.

Indrani Barua, IPS (SPS-2008), formerly serving as Deputy Inspector General of Police (CID), Assam, Guwahati, has been transferred to the position of Deputy Inspector General of Police (CWR), Assam, Guwahati.
She also made history as the first female police officer to be appointed as a range officer to the Central Western range within the Assam police.
