GUWAHATI: The hanging of the Nirbhaya gang-rape case convicts has once again been stayed till further notice.
The four convicts were to be hanged on March 3 at 6 am but a Delhi court on March 2 stayed the order and deferred the matter till further orders.
Additional Session Judge Dharmendra Rana said that as the mercy petition of one of the convicts Pawan Kumar Gupta before the President has been pending disposal, the death sentence cannot be executed.

Asha Devi, mother of the victim said, “Why is the court taking so much time to execute its own order to hang the convicts? Repeated postponing of the execution shows the failure of our system. Our entire system supports criminals.”
