Deer Rescued By Locals, Released In Assam's Pobitora Sanctuary

GUWAHATI: A deer rescued by locals from Bhagatgaon was released into the wild at Burhamayang Hills in Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary on January 11.

The rescue took place around 12:30 PM, and the animal was released by forest officials at 1:45 PM. 

The locals involved in the rescue have been identified as Diraj Deka, Ramkumar Deka, Manuranjan Das, Nareswar Deka, Rinku Deka, Abhijit Deka, and Nibaran Deka. 

Talking to GPlus, a forest official from Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary said, "The deer was released in a suitable area within the sanctuary."
