Another Power Tariff Cut In Assam Likely By November; Govt Tracking  PMAY Housing Scheme Through GPS 

 

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday, April 26 said that the Assam government may reduce electricity tariffs by another ₹1 per unit around October or November, depending on the state's financial health. Earlier this month, the government had announced a ₹1 per unit reduction.

Speaking to reporters at the state BJP headquarters in Guwahati after unveiling the BJP's manifesto for the upcoming panchayat elections, Sarma also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to clean governance, saying GPS tracking is now being used to monitor the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) housing scheme. 

He added that households left out of central housing schemes will be provided homes under the chief minister’s own housing initiative.
