GUWAHATI: A decomposed body was discovered in Maligaon on Monday, November 4 morning, prompting an investigation by local authorities. The deceased has been identified as Akon Das, a resident of 1 No. Gate, Hill Side in Maligaon.

According to officials from the Jalukbari Police Station, the body was first noticed by residents around 10:30 AM, who immediately alerted the police. “The locals notified us at around 10:30 AM. Upon preliminary investigation, it appears that the death occurred approximately 2–3 days ago,” stated an officer.
The police are now awaiting post-mortem results to confirm the cause of death. Further details regarding the incident are expected as the investigation progresses.
