GUWAHATI: The Governor of Assam has appointed former IPS Deboraj Upadhaya, as the Chairman of the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC).

“In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 316 of the Constitution of India and Assam Public Service Commission Regulation 1951 (as amended), the Governor of Assam is pleased to appoint Shri Deboraj Upadhaya, IPS (Retd.), Member, Assam Public Service Commission as Chairman of the Assam Public Service Commission with effect from the date of taking over charge,” the official notification stated.
Additionally, Mrigesh Narayan Barua, ACS, currently serving as Secretary at the Chief Minister's Secretariat, will join the APSC as a Member.
Similarly, Bhaskar Phukan, IAS, presently holding the post of Secretary, Co-ordination, in the Office of the Chief Secretary, Assam, has been appointed as a Member of the APSC.
