GUWAHATI: A daylight robbery took place in the Kahilipara area of Guwahati on Thursday, September 9, when an unknown youth looted Rs 5 lakh from a man who had just withdrawn the cash from a bank.
One Paresh Sarania had parked his car in close proximity to the bank. The incident occurred near the SBI branch of Kahilipara.
Reportedly, Sarania while entering his car, a youth came and told him that his money had fallen on the road. As he went to check out, the youth grabbed the money bag which was kept in the car and fled away.
As per police sources, the victim had been traced throughout by a group of unidentified men
An FIR has been lodged at the Bhagaduttapur Police Outpost on the matter. The Police have already scanned the CCTV footages and are trying to locate the men through their vehicle number plates.
This was confirmed to G Plus by Officer in Charge (OC) Mohan Rabha.
"We too feel bad about the situation and we are trying our best to locate the people involved," added the official.
