GUWAHATI: A burglary was reported in the Rangamancha Path area of Guwahati on September 18. The theft occurred at the Secretariat quarter of Prashant Phukan, Joint Director at the Finance Department.

Phukan told GPlus, "The burglary happened this morning after I left for the office at 10 AM. The house was empty, and the thief made off with some cash."
Dispur Police Station officials are currently investigating.
On being asked about the security at the Secretariat quarter, Phukan expressed concerns, noting that the area lacks adequate protection and is quite open.
