Dassault To Establish Aerospace And Defence Training Hub In Assam

 

The project plans to attract the state's youth towards careers in aviation, defence, aerospace, and electric vehicle engineering.

Dassault Systèmes, the technology arm of the French Dassault Group, will set up an aerospace and defence automotive electric vehicle training hub in Assam.

The project, aiming to enhance technical skills in the region, will involve an investment of ₹240 crore.

Speaking to the media after a Cabinet meeting on Friday, September 13, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "The Assam Cabinet has approved the project, where Dassault, known for its work on Rafale aircraft and cutting-edge technology like 3D printing, will establish this training hub." This project plans to attract the state's youth towards careers in aviation, defence, aerospace, and electric vehicle engineering.

The Assam government will also contribute ₹40 crore to the project, while the training hub will be located at Guwahati Engineering College. Through a "spoke model," it will deliver training to 50 colleges across Assam.

Sarma emphasised on Dassault's expertise in AI, robotics, defence, and digital platforms, describing the company as a global leader in technology. He also mentioned that similar projects have been successfully implemented in collaboration with Tata, particularly in polytechnics across the state.
