Cyclonic Circulation to cause Snow, Rain and Hail in parts of Northeast

GUWAHATI: A cyclonic circulation that is located over Uttarakhand and related upper-level trough on Friday morning, February 8 will induce instability in the northeastern region of India. 

On Friday, this condition could cause ‘moderate to heavy’ thunderstorms or rain with Hail in Assam and Meghalaya. Sikkim is likely to receive ‘moderate to heavy’ snow or rain and thunderstorms with chances of hail. Maximum temperatures will remain cooler than normal and air quality might decrease. 

On Saturday and beyond, as the cyclonic circulation moves eastwards, the northeastern region will come into its extent on Saturday. Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh will experience heavy snow or rain with chances of hailstorms and thunderstorms. Assam and Meghalaya will also witness moderate rains and thunderstorms. Maximum temperatures will remain cooler than normal and air quality might decrease.
