GUWAHATI: A cyclone warning has been issued across Assam and other North-eastern states by the India Meteorological Department on September 23.

"A cyclonic circulation lies over northeast Assam & neighbourhood at 1.5 km above mean sea level," the IMD stated in the forecast.
Assam and other north-eastern states are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorm and lightening over the next five days.
However, hot and humid weather conditions are also likely to prevail over the region, the IMD further stated.
