GUWAHATI:The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fresh warning to state governments in the northeast to be prepared for heavy to very heavy rainfall in the region.
A statement issued by IMD’s Regional Meteorological Centre stated that strong surface winds, with speeds of 30-40 kmph will prevail in the northeastern states on May 4 and 5. It also mentioned that heavy to very heavy rainfall can be expected to occur in Kamrup (Metro) and at isolated places across Kamrup, Dhubri, Kokrajhar, Goalpara, Sonitpur etc. on Saturday.
