Crane Collapse At Assam’s Dalmia Cement Plant Injures Six Workers 


GUWAHATI: At least six workers were injured on Saturday evening when a tower crane collapsed at a cement plant in Assam's Dima Hasao district. The incident took place at the Line-2 project site of Dalmia Cement Ltd in Umrongso.

The crane collapse led to multiple workers being trapped beneath the heavy machinery. Emergency services were promptly called to the scene, and the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital. 

Talking to GPlus, a senior official from the Dima Hasao district administration said, "Most of the injured workers sustained minor injuries, except for one individual. Those with minor injuries have already been released from the hospital." The official also confirmed that Dalmia Cement has taken full responsibility for the affected workers. 

A magisterial inquiry has been initiated to investigate the cause of the crane collapse. "We expect to receive a full report within 15 days," the official added.
