GUWAHATI: Guwahati registered 719 new COVID-19 positive cases on August 14, its highest single-day spike in the number of infections so far.

On the same day, Assam reported a total of 2,706 new cases. Out of these, 264 are from Dibrugarh, 258 are from Kamrup (R) and 145 are from Nagaon.

Further, with 2,310 patients discharged from various hospitals within the last 24 hours, active cases in Assam stands at 22,630 while 51,693 persons have been cured from the virus.
