GUWAHATI: With 2,036 more persons testing positive for COVID-19 on August 27, Assam's total tally has reached 98,807.
Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “2036 #COVID cases detected today out of 35395 tests done in last 24 hours. Positivity rate - 5.75%. Kamrup M- 481, Jorhat 146, Dibrugarh- 129, Hailakandi- 110."

Further, with 2,345 persons being discharged from different hospitals and COVID care centres in the state, Assam now stands with 19,219 active cases as on August 26.
So far, 79,307 persons have recovered from the viral disease in Assam. The death toll stands at 278.
