GUWAHATI: Assam recorded 1307 fresh COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, October 8. The cases were detected from all across the state, out of 33,346 COVID tests conducted. This was informed by the Health Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Sarma wrote, "Alert ~ 1307 COVID cases detected today out of 33346 tests today." The latest positivity rate for the infection was 3.92%.
With this, the total number of COVID cases in Assam has gone up to 1,90,209.
Further, with 2,561 patients discharged from various hospitals within the last 24 hours, active cases in Assam stands at 31,786 while 1,57635 persons have been cured of the virus.
The COVID-19 death toll in Assam stands at 785.
