COVID-19 Positive Patient from Hailakandi in Critical Condition

GUWAHATI: Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that the condition of the 28th case (from Hailakandi) of COVID-19 from Assam is alarming. Though his other parameters are stable, his oxygen saturation is decreasing.

Meanwhile, the patient has been shifted to the ICU of Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) for better monitoring.

It is to be mentioned that earlier on April 7, a person from Hailakandi district, with a travel history to Saudi Arabia, was confirmed as COVID-19 positive. He also had a travel history of Nizamuddin Markaz in Old Delhi.

The Hailakandi district administration has sealed off all the inter-district borders it shares with Karimganj and Cachar districts.

Till now the total number of Covid-19 patients in Assam stands at 28.
