COVID-19: Changsari Under Kamrup (R) Sealed Off

GUWAHATI: With the detection of one COVID-19 positive case, the geographical area of Changsari has been sealed off to arrest the spread of Coronavirus.

Earlier, one patient identified as Debashish Acharjee of West Bengal who was on Home Quarantine at village Madanpur under Baihata Chariali P.S. of Kamrup (R) had tested positive on May 7.

The schedule of the sealed geographical area is indicated below:

Epicenter: Madanpur village, under Kantalpur Rev. Circle. 

North: From House of Rupeshwar Das- Village Madanpur to house of Praneswar Kalita, village Deoduar 

South: From House of Rupeshwar Das- village Madanpur to house of Hitesh Deka, village Aladanpur.

East: From House of Rupeshwar Das- village Madanpur to house of Sankha Kumar, village Katanipara Badisuba 

West: From House of Rupeshwar Das village Madanpur to house of Ratnakanta Deka, village Madanpur.

In view of the sealing of the area as indicated above the following restrictions are imposed:

1. No entry and exit of population will be allowed.

2. Vehicular movement is to be strictly prohibited.

3. All statutory and other directions regarding maintenance of social distancing will be strictly enforced.

The order is made under the regulation "The Assam COVID-19 Regulation, 2020" and shall be effective from May 8th, 2020 until further notice.

For information, Changsari is an important junction that falls on the route to lower Assam and is part of the main highway NH27 that leads out of Guwahati to mainland India.
