Talking to GPlus, an official from Cotton University said, "The heritage residence has been lying unused for many years, so the administration decided to take action. We have launched an initiative to convert this historic structure into an art gallery and science museum. Multiple departments within the university are actively participating in this project to ensure its success."

Ranel Das, a city-based architect and a member of the Architecture Association of Assam talking to GPlus said, "It is a very commendable initiative by the university. When heritage buildings are left unused for long periods, they tend to fall into disrepair due to a lack of maintenance. By converting this structure into an art gallery and museum, not only will it be put to good use, but it will also receive the necessary upkeep and care."
