GUWAHATI: A young boy was apprehended on Friday, September 13, for allegedly kidnapping an 11-year-old girl.

The incident took place when the girl reportedly ran away with the boy around 4:30 PM on Thursday, September 12. He took her to Barpeta.
Talking to GPlus, an official from Dispur police station said, "The girl had an affair with the boy and went with him voluntarily. We apprehended him from Barpeta. He is currently undergoing a medical examination."
A case has been registered at Dispur police station under Section 87 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), numbered 984/24.
Further investigation is under way.
