Coronavirus Lockdown: Assam Govt Allocates Designated Spots to Sell Vegetables in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Assam Food & Civil Supplies Department along with Additional Chief secretary of Food Civil, Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department has arranged to sell vegetables in designated points of Guwahati from March 27 onwards.

The areas are- 

Sixmile (Vehicle carrying Vegetables number : AS 18 AC 2186)

Ganeshguri (Vehicle carrying Vegetables number : AS 18 C 8465)

Ulubari (Vehicle carrying Vegetables number : AS 18 AC 2244)

Fancy Bazar (Vehicle carrying Vegetables number : AS 18 AC 1179)

Narengi (Vehicle carrying Vegetables number : AS 18 C 9306)

Maligaon (Vehicle carrying Vegetables number : AS 19 C 4794)

Silpukhuri (Vehicle carrying Vegetables number : AS 18 C 9679)    

This order will come into force with immediate effect and shall stand until further order. 

Further, the officers concerned are requested to ensure proper maintenance of social distancing during the time of selling of vegetables at designated points.

Meanwhile, Food & Civil Supplies Minister Phani Bhusan Choudhury, while addressing a press conference said, "“We would like to assure you that we have 2 lakh quintal rice as of now. Some essential items are available, some are being brought and some are being unloaded.”
