Coronavirus: Indian Railways Advice Passengers to get their Own Blankets

GUWAHATI: In order to prevent the spread of Corona virus in the country, Indian Railways is taking several measures like sanitization of trains and removal of curtains and blankets from air-conditioned trains coaches.

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal took to his Twitter to share pictures of rigorous cleaning of trains. Sharing the video he wrote, "Combating #Coronavirus: Watch the proactive efforts taken by Railways to sanitise things prone to passenger touch in trains, making the journey more safe & hygienic for all passengers."

Earlier, the official twitter handle of Western Railway shared a tweet on the withdrawal of curtains and blankets from AC coaches. "Kindly note that it has been decided to withdraw curtains & blankets from AC coaches of trains as they are not washed every trip, for prevention of #coronavirus. 

Passengers may please bring their own blankets if need be. Inconvenience is regretted," the tweet read.
