Conversation Meet on Workplace Harassment of Women held in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: With an avid view to discuss, educate, celebrate and converse on the issue of 'Workplace Harassment of Women', the Foundation for Social Transformation organized their third conversation meet on the 28th of February, 2019 at the office premises situated in Jorpukhuri, Guwahati

The conversation was led by Anurita P Hazarika, Director of North East Network (NEN) who gave an elaborate review on what harassment is. It was followed by a PowerPoint presentation explaining the present scenario prevailing in the organizational framework. Further rules relating to this gender discriminatory issue were being discussed thoroughly to redress the matter. 

In the next phase of the session, independent communication consultant Rubee Das gave her personal instances of gender-based violence and harassment at the workplace. 

In the concluding question-answer session, the participants shared their personal experiences and stories of harassment in their workplaces and public spheres.
 
The conversation meet was attended by around 15 participants from various walks of life.
 
The FST, in August 2018, started a series of conversation meet aimed at providing a common platform to share ideas, discuss, educate on the current trending topics emerging in the society. The informal meet is held to bring out positive energies of the youth, influential groups, visionaries and individuals to share their own stories of survival and growth.
