Congress files FIR against BJP spokesperson for spreading Fake News

GUWAHATI: Syed Muminul Aowal, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson and Chairman of Assam Minorities Development Board had posted some objectionable photos of Rahul Gandhi, President of Indian National Congress on his Facebook account and an FIR has been filed against the former on February 17.

In the Facebook post, the terrorist suspected to be involved in the killing of CRPF jawans in the Pulwama attacks on February 14 was seen in close proximity to Gandhi.

The FIR states that the photograph of the terrorist as suspected to be Adil Ahmad Dar, who belongs to the Jaish-e-Mohammad group, was reconstructed by Aowal with the photograph of Gandhi “with intention to cause public unrest, disturbance, for deterioration of peace & tranquility and create deterioration in maintenance of Law and Order of the country” and to tarnish the image of Gandhi and the Congress Party as a whole.

The FIR states that since Aowal is a spokesman of BJP, he along with the BJP party should be held responsible for the act of publishing such a post on social media.
