GUWAHATI: Oil Manufacturing Companies (OMCs) have implemented a substantial increase in the prices of commercial LPG cylinders across all major cities placing the price of commercial LPG in Assam to be ₹2035 as of November 1.
The price of commercial LPG cylinders in Assam earlier was ₹1932. However, the price of domestic LPG cylinders in Assam is ₹952 as of November 1.
The new rates are now in effect across four major metropolitan areas in India. In the capital city of Delhi, a 19kg commercial LPG cylinder will now cost ₹1,833.
Mumbai enjoys the lowest price among the major cities, with a 19kg commercial LPG cylinder priced at ₹1,785.50.
Chennai will experience the highest price increase, with a 19kg commercial LPG cylinder now costing ₹1,999.50.
Kolkata falls in between, with the new price set at ₹1,943.
It's important to note that these price adjustments exclusively pertain to 19kg commercial cylinders, while domestic LPG cylinder prices remain unaffected and remain stable.
In Delhi, the domestic LPG cylinder's price remains unchanged at ₹903.
Kolkata residents can purchase a 14kg domestic cylinder for ₹929.
Mumbai offers domestic LPG cylinders at Rs 902.5.
Chennai's domestic LPG cylinder price stands at ₹918.5.
Additionally, oil companies had previously raised prices for commercial LPG gas cylinders on October 1, with a substantial increase of ₹209 for the 19kg cylinder.
This increase pushed the retail selling price of commercial LPG cylinders in Delhi from ₹1,731.50 to the current ₹1,833.
Meanwhile, domestic cylinder prices remained unchanged for another month.
In September, commercial LPG cylinders saw a price reduction when oil marketing companies lowered costs by ₹157.
Following this adjustment, the 19kg commercial cylinder was priced at ₹1,522.50 in Delhi and ₹1,636 in Kolkata.
August also witnessed a price reduction of ₹100 for commercial LPG gas cylinders.
