The Assam government has approved a subsidy of ₹5 per liter of milk for farmers who sell their produce through cooperative societies.
This was announced by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma following a state cabinet meeting that was held on Friday, January 10.
The subsidy will be transferred directly to their bank accounts via DBT.
This scheme has been implemented to incentivize dairy farming, strengthen cooperative systems, and uplift rural economies.
Additionally, the government also approved the restructuring of the Directorate of Town and Country Planning to address challenges such as urban flooding and other critical urban issues of the state.
