Assam Govt Restructures Urban Planning Department

 

This initiative includes the creation of two additional Joint Director posts and 46 new positions, including GIS Experts and Specialist Architects

The Assam government has approved the restructuring of the Directorate of Town and Country Planning to address challenges such as urban flooding and other critical urban issues of the state.

This was announced by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma following a state cabinet meeting that was held on Friday, January 10.

This initiative includes the creation of two additional Joint Director posts and 46 new positions, including GIS Experts and Specialist Architects.

The adopted measures have been taken to bring governance closer to urban residents.

Additionally, the government also approved the establishment of two milk processing plants in Jorhat and Dibrugarh, each with a capacity of 100 TLPD (thousand liters per day).
