GUWAHATI: Bethune College, under Calcutta University, has added the option of choosing ‘Humanity’ as a religion in its college admission form.
This addition was made to their undergraduate admission form.

Based on a report by The Millenium Post, Mamata Ray, the principal of the college said that since some students are reluctant to reveal their religion in admission forms, the admission committee has deliberately added this option as they believe that ‘Humanity’ is “the true religion of mankind.”
Generally, common religions listed in most forms include Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, Sikhism, Christianity or Others.
