GUWAHATI: President Ram Nath Kovind addressed a joint sitting of both Houses in Central Hall at 11 AM on January 30.
In his speech, he said that the Citizenship Amendment Bill will make it easier to provide Indian citizenship to those who had to take refuge in India after facing oppression somewhere else. They were not at fault, they were victims of situations like that.

It is to be mentioned that the session will likely witness some noisy moments as the government is set to pass the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 and the triple talaq bill among others.
