CID Appointed As Single Nodal Agency For National Cyber Crime Helpline In Assam

GUWAHATI: In a significant development, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Assam has been designated as the Single Nodal Agency (SNA) responsible for implementing the scheme for the National Cyber Crime Helpline Number 1930 in the state. 

Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria issued an order announcing this decision.

 

According to the official order, the Superintendent of Police, Cyber Crime-II, CID, Assam, has been appointed as the Nodal Officer to oversee the implementation of the scheme and manage the SNA Account for fund utilization. This move aims to streamline the response to cybercrimes and enhance the effectiveness of the helpline.

"The Governor of Assam is pleased to designate the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Assam as the Single Nodal Agency (SNA) for the implementation of the Scheme for National Cyber Crime Helpline Number 1930 in the State of Assam," the order stated.

Highlighting recent successes, the CID of Assam had recently taken action in two separate cybercrime cases resulting in the freezing of ₹8,15,743 stolen by cyber fraudsters.
