Cherry Blossom Festival 2023 Expected To Have Footfall Of 1 Lakh Visitors

GUWAHATI: The eagerly awaited Cherry Blossom Festival 2023 is set to enchant Meghalaya as the charming hill station becomes adorned with the delicate hues of pink and white cherry blossoms.

The event, a harmonious blend of nature and art, is anticipated by both national and international tourists and is poised to feature prominent figures from the music and entertainment industry.

As per reports, Meghalaya Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh shared that the festival is expected to draw in approximately 30,000 visitors daily, culminating in a total of 1,00,000 attendees. Notably, 90 per cent of the audience is anticipated to be comprised of tourists from outside the state, including both domestic and international travelers.

The festival promises a diverse array of activities, spanning cosplay competitions, beauty pageants, choir contests, graffiti and art installations, karaoke contests, and even adventurous pursuits like a Ferris wheel and thrilling zipline. 

The RBDSA Sports Complex in Madan Kurkalang, Bhoirymbong, Ri Bhoi district, is set to host the festival.

The Cherry Blossom Festival is more than just a visual spectacle; it's a celebration of culture, art, and music. This year's edition boasts an impressive line-up of pop stars and DJs who are sure to captivate the audience.

The first day, on November 17, will feature performances by artists such as Sanam, Hybrid Theory, SURL, Kenny Musik, 4th Element, The Band Phantasm, DBRYN, Gwyneth, Dalariti, CYCO, Aminio, Dr. Legend, Chevinia.

The second day promises to elevate the excitement with performances by American singer NE-YO, Meba Ofilia, Pink Panda, Snow White, Rahul Rajkhowa, Street Stories – Banjop, Empirical Tribe – Tenny, Zethan, Ricaa Stella, Banker Kharkongor.

The grand finale on the last day will showcase the much-anticipated performances by former Boyzone vocalist Ronan Keating, Jonas Blue, Lou Majaw, Blue Temptation, Da Minot, Nokpante, Rhem, Favian, Wanjop Sohkhlet, Banrap, Youngg Nate, Meban, Lamphrang, Toshan.

To ensure smooth traffic flow during the Cherry Blossom Festival, a designated route has been established along the Guwahati Shillong Road, Mawiong-ISBT Bypass, and Mawdiangdiang Bypass.
