Chennai boys arrested for harassing NE female fans during ISL

The two accused who were involved in harassing female fans from the Northeast during the Indian Super League (ISL) match between ChennaiyinFC and NEUFC have been arrested and were sent to judicial custody. They have been booked under the Tamil Nadu Prevention of Harassment of Women Act.

The apprehended two have been identified as Vijay and Karthik, who were arrested by the Tamil Nadu Police after a video of their misbehavior went viral on the social media channels. 

The incident took place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Chennai, during the match where Chennaiyin FC won against NEUFC by 3-0. After the match, the two boys were seen allegedly harassing female fans of NEUFC. It has also been alleged that the two also used certain racist words to mock and tease the Northeast fans. Soon after that, people who recorded the incident surfaced the social media, with criticisms condemning the act.
