Chargesheet Filed In SEBA HSLC Paper Leak Case

GUWAHATI: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has filed a chargesheet in the case related to the leakage of the General Science question paper of the HSLC Examination, 2023, based on a complaint lodged by the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA).

According to the CID's investigation, it has been revealed that Pranab Kumar Dutta, the Head Master and Centre-In-Charge of Lohit Khaboli High School in Lakhimpur, and Kumud Rajkhowa, a teacher at Dafalakata Janajati High School in Lakhimpur, were the alleged masterminds behind the conspiracy to leak the HSLC question paper for financial gain.

In addition to Pranab Kumar Dutta and Kumud Rajkhowa, thirty-nine others have been arrested for their involvement in the conspiracy to leak and circulate the question paper, as confirmed by the official report.

During a search operation at Pranab Kumar Dutta's residence, partially burnt pieces of the General Science question paper were recovered, along with ashes resulting from the paper being burned.

These items were sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in Guwahati for analysis.

Following a thorough investigation, the FSL determined that the recovered half-burnt pieces bear similarities to the original General Science question paper.

Further details regarding the case are currently awaited as the investigation progresses.
