Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla has communicated to the Chief Secretaries of all states and union territories about the same.

Bhalla informed about reports of restrictions on district and state level being imposed on movement, even as the unlocking of the nationwide lockdown continues.

“Such restrictions are creating problems in inter-state movement of goods and services and are impacting supply chains, resulting in a disruption in economic activity and employment,” said the Home Secretary.

The Centre had also informed that there that will be no separate permission, approval or e-permit required for the movement of persons and goods for cross land border trade under treaties with neighbouring countries.

Earlier, the Meghalaya government had decided to close all entry points to the state for one week every month in the next three months, starting September 2020.

Similarly, in Assam, inter-district movement is barred during the weekends.
