GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday, February 24, announced that the central government provided ₹475 crore to 20.87 lakh farmers across Assam. This recent allocation is 10% more than the previous installment.

“As he lands in Assam in a few hours from now,” Sarma posted on X, “Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji is sending an advanced gift to the farmers of Assam – the 19th installment of #PMKisanSammanNidhi.”
The 19th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) was released in Bihar’s Bhagalpur on the same day, as a total of ₹22,000 crore benefited 9.7 crore farmers across India.
The PM-KISAN scheme provides an annual financial assistance of ₹6,000 to eligible farming families, distributed in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each, directly credited to their bank accounts every four months.
In the previous installment, released in Washim, Maharashtra, on October 5, 2024, financial support had reached 9.58 crore farmers.
