GUWAHATI: The education governing body Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to include Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a subject for classes VIII, IX and X.
According to a report, AI will be an elective subject and will be introduced from the next academic session.
The report also says that a senior CBSE official has confirmed the development saying that the subject would be one of the optional subjects on the vocational side.
The idea of introducing AI as a school subject was ideated from a session held at the NITI Aayog, following which the CBSE began exploring the concept.
It is to be mentioned that the CBSE has 20,299 schools under its purview in India.
