CBSE Doubles Fees For Class 10, 12 Board Exams For General Category, Hiked 24 Times For SC, ST

GUWAHATI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has hiked the fees for class 10 and 12 board examinations for general, SC and ST categories. 

Students belonging to SC and ST categories will have to pay Rs. 1200, increased from Rs. 50 and students from the general category will now have to pay Rs. 1500, increased from Rs. 350.

The board notified the fee change last week and has asked schools who had already begun the registration process to collect fees from students according to the new fee structure.

It should be noted that this fee structure is applicable for five subjects. If students want to pursue an additional sixth subject, they will now have to pay extra fees. Students from SC and ST categories will have to pay Rs. 150 and general category students will have to pay Rs. 300.

It should be noted that students are visually impaired are exempt from all examination fees.
