GUWAHATI: A team from the East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) stationed at Jorabat Outpost (OP) under Basistha Police Station intercepted two trucks at Jorabat Link Road on November 19.
The trucks were attempting to smuggle 55 cattle heads into Meghalaya. Three individuals identified as Hermen Lyngdoh of Namdonga, Kini Dkhar of Mookhon, and Soniki Tariang of Jowai were apprehended in connection with the illegal activity. The interception took place at Jorabat Link Road, preventing the unauthorised transportation of the cattle into Meghalaya.
Guwahati Police took to X to put out, “An EGPD team from Jorabat OP of Basistha PS intercepted 2 trucks (AS27 C6834 & AS25 AC9890) at Jorabat Link Road while they were trying to smuggle 55 cattle heads onto Meghalaya. 3 thugs - Hermen Lyngdoh of Namdonga, Kini Dkhar of Mookhon, Soniki Tariang of Jowai - were arrested.”
